No, and that is not an oversight. The report sets out what each of your ways of doing things gives you and what it costs you, without designating a right way to raise a child. A four-minute test has nothing to say about the quality of a parent, and nobody should claim otherwise.

On the best-established distinctions in the research: the two dimensions of demandingness and responsiveness identified by Diana Baumrind and then taken up by Eleanor Maccoby and John Martin, the meta-emotion philosophy described by John Gottman, the difference between autonomy support and psychological control worked on by Brian Barber, and the achievement expectations described by the sociologist Annette Lareau. The hierarchy between styles that Baumrind proposed, however, is not carried over: Ruth Chao showed as early as 1994 that it described non-Western families poorly.

No. No question is about them, no data concerning them is collected, and the report says nothing about their development, their character or their future.
